Snowstorms were always an inconvenience for work, but they made a great day of play for the kids. Back in the ‘90s, I had my private station wagon and later my minivan registered as a hearse. According to Massachusetts law, to convey a deceased human body, it required registering the vehicles as a hearse with the Department of Motor Vehicles and your insurance carrier. I had picked up a stretcher, and I transferred bodies for other funeral homes and the funeral home of which I worked. It made a little bit of money for me on the side, which would always help a family out raising three children, or parts for my Harley. But, I had a license plate frame that covered the word hearse on the plate and that never stood out using it as a family wagon with the kids bouncing around.
